I’ve been resistant to post a skin update for quite some time. For a while, I was sharing photos of the dramatic improvements every few months. Thankfully, I was left with mostly scarring and very little cystic acne remaining, but it’s particularly challenging to capture photos of the nuanced differences between acne scarring from month to month.
If you follow me on social media, you are well aware of my current love affair with Thrive Market. I’ve mentioned it before on the blog as well, but Thrive Market is essentially a cross between Whole Foods, Amazon, and Costco. Health conscious products at a serious discount that arrive at your door? Sign me up.
Today marks the start of my second round of anti-fungal medication, so I wanted to provide a quick functional medicine update.
I genuinely try to keep the day-to-day of my professional life off of this blog. I might mention my students, coworkers, boss, or an event from time to time, but I really want to keep the two worlds separate.
The technical definition, according to Google: “(of food or drink) without sugar or a similar substance having been added.”
It’s not a difficult word, right? Without sugar. Un-sweetened. Not hard.
But yet here I am, livid over the fact that the “unsweetened” almond milk lattes I’ve been somewhat addicted to were made with sweetened almond milk for the past few weeks.
The candida dieoff is still very real. Poor Zack has listened to me say “I just don’t feel good” at least 200 times today, and every time he reminds me that it’s actually really good that I feel so crappy. This anti-fungal + supplement combination is working! Is it possible to be both thankful and really cranky at the same time?
So. It’s finally happening. The candida is finally dying. VICTORY.
